Project 2:

Compost Rotor Design

About: When I started my compost journey, I knew little to nothing about what sort of commitment composting actually was. Not only do you have to loot out the proper composting materials, you have to make sure it's heating, you have to turn it and this process takes a looooong time. You have to be patient with it though. I will admit that I still don't know the most about composting so I am dedicating Project 2 to learning more. I have a concept of designing a rotor which turns compost for you so it isn't so much a laborious feat.

How it meets criteria: Composting is a basic environmental science hack. learning to manipulate the turning process will allow for wasted compost to properly be returned to the carbon and nitrogen cycles of agricultural farming.

Resources consulted: The internet (Youtube, KhanAcademy, and articles)

Hours: With reading and design time, I'm looking at 6-7 hours for this project
