I noticed that most of my cooking involved water-from boiling pasta or steaming vegetables- so I figured what harm would it be to reuse the water I had barely touched? It seems like such a waste to use a few cups of water one time considering the long journey it has come to come out of my faucet relatively clean.
-I made sure to use water that hadn’t been trace of plant harming chemicals. For instance, I did not use bath or dish water- even if the soaps were made with plant-based materials. I didn’t want to risk anything.
- Realizing that pasta creates starchy water leftovers and plants are composed of starches, I began my investigation for plant-safe water. The only downside to my hypothesis that reusing this water would improve the plant health is that I generally use salt in my water to adjust the boiling point. With this in mind, I tried to control my salt use but unfortunately couldn’t help every meal from being sped up with salt’s properties.
